Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an accredited (or working towards accreditation) counsellor or CBT therapist to join the existing Psychological Health Team at Bedfordshire Police, Cambridgeshire Constabulary and Hertfordshire Constabulary multi-disciplinary Occupational Health Unit. EMDR or Trauma Focused CBT qualifications are highly desired.
We are currently seeking to recruit a part time Psychological Health Advisor. Ideally based over 3.5 working days, however a flexible working agreement of a set number of hours per day will be considered if required.
This post will be a combination of site based in Sandy (Bedfordshire) and working from home (hybrid working).
This is a unique opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team providing, short term therapeutic interventions, trauma treatment and clinical guidance to police officers and staff. You will work closely with other professionals to provide a customer focused service which supports both the organisation and, it’s most important resource; the people who work within it.
You will need to be able to work on your own initiative, with a high degree of autonomy and demonstrate high levels of personal motivation, drive and resilience and the ability to manage an extremely varied workload with ever changing priorities.
You will provide a proactive psychological health service to officers and staff identifying psychological risks and making recommendations on potential resolution. You will provide short term interventions in line with departmental guidelines and provide specialist advice to OH colleagues and managers on fitness for work including report writing and referrals to external sources where required. Further work will include some delivery of presentations and skills-based workshops to officers and staff so confident public speaking skills are highly desired for this role.
You will need excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills and be confident in using IT packages such as Microsoft office and databases.

There is a requirement to commit to professional supervision to maintain high standards of professional practice for both the practitioner and the client.
Driving license is required as the post holder will be required to travel between the three forces.
