Description:
The post holder will work within Manchester Talking Therapies predominantly providing telephone assessments to people experiencing common mental health problems. They will also provide a small number of evidence based low-intensity psychological interventions to clients. This may include guided self-help computerised CBT, information about pharmacological treatments. It will also involve screening new referrals into the service and where necessary, refer clients on to a more relevant service or step up to high intensity psychological therapy.

Make decisions on suitability for new referrals, adhering to GMMH’s referral protocols, and where necessary, refer clients on to a more relevant service or step up to high intensity psychological therapy.
Assess and support people with a common mental health problem in the self management of their recovery, and appropriately signposts to additional or more appropriate support .
Undertake patient-centred interviews which identify areas where the person wishes to see change and make an informed assessment of risk to self and others .
Provide a small number of evidence based low-intensity psychological interventions to clients. This may include guided self-help computerised CBT, information about pharmacological treatments.
