Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for an enthusiastic practitioner psychologist to join the Swansea Bay CAMHS psychology and psychological therapy (P&PT) service, leading on psychological practice within the In-Reach and Early Intervention parts of the service.
The post holder will join a team of psychologists and psychological therapists including a Consultant Psychologist lead, two other 8b psychologists , 8a psychologists, an Assistant Psychologist, Systemic Family Therapists and CAMHS psychological therapists (including Art Therapy, Play Therapy, CBT and EMDR Therapists). The P&PT team is very well regarded in CAMHS and the service is keen to build on early work broadening the scope of P&PT into all aspects of CAMHS.
In addition, the post holder will join a thriving, friendly and supportive Child Psychology department, which delivers services in a broad range of areas including surgical specialties, paediatric settings, and child development services. This department meets regularly for networking and sharing resources, CPD and reflective practice.
The post holder will have responsibility, with support from the Consultant Lead Psychologist for CAMHS, for psychological practice in the In-Reach and Early Intervention parts of CAMHS. This will include the School In-Reach Service, the Single Point of Access team, Assessment and Treatment Team (which delivers the LPMHSS aspect of CAMHS), and some aspects of the Crisis Team.
The role will include direct and indirect work with children, young people and families/carers, as well as consultation, supervision and staff training.
The post holder will lead on identifying the psychological service areas for development, and will work with team leads to identify priorities. The post holder will also contribute to the development of broader CAMHS team processes including clinical pathways, outcome measurement and training, and line management as appropriate.
