This position is eligible for an incentive payment for rent, childcare, relocation costs and more, as part of the new workforce and incentive grants program administered by Rural Agency Workforce Victoria (RWAV) up to $10,000.

Responsibilities:
As a senior member of our Referral Services multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist mental health assessments, intervention, consultation and liaison services to South West Healthcare’s Warrnambool Emergency Department (ED). You will coordinate access to acute inpatient beds for consumers requiring them including seeking out of area beds if local access is unavailable. You will ensure all actions align with the principles of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 and that appropriate reporting and escalation as required under the Act are followed.
Senior Mental Health Clinicians provide a rapid response to people who require urgent or intensive specialist mental health assessment, treatment and support. Collaboration between Senior Mental Health Clinicians and the ED medical treating team, Ambulance Services and Victoria Police aims to provide specialist care for clients with co-occurring health needs.
