ABOUT US:
Lois Bridges is a specialised service providing in patient/day & outpatient care for Eating Disorders. We offer comprehensive and coordinated treatment programs for adults, incorporating multidisciplinary treatment which sees collaboration between our psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, assistant psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatric nurses and peer support workers.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and organised Psychotherapist to join our team and support the smooth operation of our practice.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Relevant Qualification in Psychotherapy, Counselling, or a related field.
- Experience providing psychotherapy services.
- Expertise in at least one therapeutic modality, such as CBT-E, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, etc.
- Strong understanding of mental health conditions, treatment methodologies, and evidence-based interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish trust and rapport with clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Specialised training in areas such as trauma therapy, substance abuse counseling, family therapy, or child and adolescent mental health.
- Experience working with diverse populations and a wide range of mental health issues.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Individual, Group, or Family Therapy: Provide psychotherapy sessions to individuals, couples, families, and groups, utilising a range of therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT-E), psychodynamic therapy, person-centered therapy, or other evidence-based practices.
- Assess and Diagnose: Perform initial assessments to evaluate clients’ emotional, psychological, and behavioral issues. Use clinical tools to diagnose mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, or other disorders.
- Develop Treatment Plans: Collaborate with clients to create personalised, goal-oriented treatment plans based on their individual needs and therapeutic goals. Modify treatment plans as necessary to reflect progress and new insights.
- Monitor Progress: Maintain regular contact with clients to monitor their progress, adjust treatment strategies, and provide continuous therapeutic support.
- Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with other healthcare professionals such as psychiatrists, social workers, and medical professionals to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to client care.
- Maintain Confidential Records: Keep detailed, confidential case notes and documentation of all therapy sessions in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Ensure that records are accurate, up to date, and stored securely.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute psychological distress or emergency situations, guiding them through immediate challenges and referring them to appropriate services if needed.
- Professional Development: Stay informed on the latest research, trends, and best practices in psychotherapy through continuous professional development, workshops, and training sessions.
