Description:

Applications are invited for a part-time Professor, Office Administration (Health Services) in the School of Business and Management Studies at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus.
Reporting to the Associate Dean, Business and Management, this exciting role requires the successful candidate to provide an invitational learning environment to deliver courses within the School of Business and Management and contribute to the division’s scholarly activity. The Professor position is responsible for providing academic leadership and developing an effective learning environment for students.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • A Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Health Administration or related subject matter.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in healthcare administration, including in-depth knowledge of health information management, including health document preparation, office procedures, medical terminology, medical transcription, and electronic medical record systems (EMR).
  • Working knowledge of OHIP billing and the billing cycle.
  • Familiarity with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), and its related requirements.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of teaching experience at a post-secondary level or adult training experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop multi-media materials and alternative delivery strategies and incorporate appropriate educational technologies into the learning process.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate learning with a diverse range of students to support their success.
  • History of forging strong working relationships with peers and colleagues.
  • Proven willingness to contribute to a strong team environment and positive work culture.
  • Evidence of commitment to supporting and guiding students toward their successes.
  • Proven ability to deliver course content to a diverse student population.
  • Advanced internal and external networking/relationship building and liaison abilities.
  • Professional affiliations and related professional designations.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
