QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- BS or BA degree (MA/MPA/MBA preferred) in Political Science, International Relations, Law, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years’ leadership experience in government, government affairs, public policy or related fields. Life science and pharmaceutical sector experience preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of the pharmaceutical industry and health policy from a corporate and broader environmental perspective.
- Expertise in creating and developing government policy positions in a corporate setting.
- In-depth knowledge of global political and regulatory environments, particularly in key markets relevant to the organisation’s business operations.
- Proven track record of engaging and relationship-building with health care trade associations, policymakers, and governing bodies with jurisdiction over healthcare.
- Experience in influencing trade association strategy, aligning with organisational goals and values.
- Fluent spoken and written English is a prerequisite.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and articulate clear, rational, and cross-functionally informed public policy positions in key policy areas including, but not limited to, intellectual property, compounding, taxation, pricing, reimbursement, industrial policies, market access, and trade.
- Identify, coordinate and drive policy priorities and convergence around key policy positions across functions and affiliates in a timely manner, demonstrating agility in revising/revisiting positions as circumstances evolve.
- Identify and prioritise key strategic policy threats and opportunities and effectively engage internal colleagues and stakeholders to drive and influence external positioning and responses.
- Share best practices and learnings across affiliates while identifying capacity gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Closely collaborate with Regions, Affiliates, EVP/SVP/GMs to ensure alignment of global policy and advocacy activities and create robust policy development positions.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive research agenda aligned with global policy objectives and affiliates in key markets.
- Develop critical resources (e.g., white papers, advocacy briefs) for use by affiliate teams and senior leaders
