Description:
SIZEWELL C. THE POWER OF GOOD FOR BRITAIN.
Location: London*, with travel as required (hybrid working arrangements).
Employment type: Permanent full-time/ part-time.
Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full- time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible or part- time approach where possible.
Salary: c.£40,000 dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.
Closing date: Thursday 13th February.

Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project is now seeking private investment with a view to start construction in 2024. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Public Affairs Officer, providing Sizewell C with in-house ability to monitor parliamentary and political activity and maintaining our stakeholder contact database, while supporting other team members in a range of public affairs activities.
Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.
THE SKILLS
You’ll have a passion for politics, ideally with previous experience of working in public affairs or Parliament.
Having excellent communication skills, and being able to communicate complex topics to a wide audience will be key.
You’ll need to be used to working in a complex and fast- paced environment with tight deadlines.
Any experience with energy sector, and preferably nuclear, would be beneficial.

- Sizewell C Limited will be moving offices from 90 Whitfield Street to 25 Copthall Avenue.
25 Copthall Avenue is a modern building just a short walk from Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations. Sizewell C will occupy the whole of the 4th floor. We are targeting a move in February 2025.
This role will be contractually based at 25 Copthall Avenue. However, depending on the date of the move there may be a period that you will be required to work temporarily from our existing office at 90 Whitfield Street.
Responsibilities:
You’ll be part of our vital Public Affairs team, supporting SZC’s government and stakeholder relations as well as leaders across the SZC project.
You can expect to get involved with:
Ensuring the timely and accurate compilation and submission of accurate reports, including monitoring of political activity, key events, weekly activity reports.
Providing advice and guidance on external communications issues, identifying risks and pro-actively protecting the company’s reputation.
Planning and drafting communication materials and briefings on specific topics.
Supporting with the creation of social media content for events and our public affairs activities.
