Responsibilities:
The National Office is responsible for supporting the CSCO in delivering his priorities. The role and function of the National Office will initially centre on three core areas. These are:
- Supporting the Chief Social Care Officer for Wales in their role
- Development, implementation, and ongoing delivery of the National Care Service for Wales
- Implementation and ongoing management of the National Commissioning Framework for Care and Support in Wale
Key tasks
- Support in developing, implementing and maintaining a national engagement strategy for the National Office and Chief Social Care Officer.
- Work closely with the Head of Public and Stakeholder Engagement to manage and raise the profile of Social Care in Wales and to engage widely.
- Oversee and provide support to National Office team members in relation to engagement matters within the wider National Office functions.
- Draft high-quality, informed, advice to managers, Ministers, CSCO and the strategic governance and citizens panels and take a lead role in dealing with enquiries into the National Office including correspondence to Ministers.
- Contribute towards, and where necessary lead, on Government Business, including Senedd questions and Ministerial correspondence.
- Support provision of secretariat services to relevant groups and other bodies established by the National Office, where appropriate and necessary.
- Represent the National Office and supporting senior officials at meetings / Ministerial briefings and engagement events
