This position will be located at the St. Thomas or Woodstock site.
This position is anticipated to extend until December 31, 2024, subject to availability of work and funding.
This position will be on the Environmental Health Team - Climate Change Program.
Reporting to the Manager, Foundational Standards, the Health Planner position plans, analyzes, evaluates current or proposed health programs for the purpose of program development. Assists in the development of recommendations, strategies, and policies to improve existing health programs or substantiate the need for additional programs. Provides recommendations based on current literature, research, epidemiological and health status information, to support the delivery of effective public health practices and services.
EDUCATION
- Master’s degree from a post-secondary education institution that is recognized by the province of Ontario in a related health or social sciences discipline with emphasis on planning and evaluation of health programs and policies
- Additional certification in continuous quality improvement is considered an asset
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of one (1) year related experience in public health program planning, evaluation and policy development is preferred
- Experience using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Proficient in report writing and other written communications
- Advanced skills in public health practice, research, program planning, evaluation, policy development, community development, and project management
