Description:

An exciting new role has been created within the 0-19 Children and Young People Public Health Service for an enthusiastic and motivated practitioner to join the team to deliver the National Child Measurement Programme.
The right candidate will work as part of a friendly and supportive team that delivers high quality public health interventions that promotes and improves the health of children, young people and their families.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
Work as part of the 0-19 CYP PHS, regularly without supervision, to support Public Health Service delivery.
To plan alongside Administrative staff and deliver a high quality and efficient screening programme to pupils in primary schools across the locality, meeting specified targets determined nationally and locally
To act as a vital team player in the National Child Measurement Programme; coordinating booking and visiting schools to measure Reception and Year 6 children, including inputting data
To provide support to Public Health Locality Practitioners to deliver high quality, effective health services in order to meet the health needs of the school age population
To support the delivery of public health/ health promotion activities
To work with children, young people and families in a non – judgemental manner in order to promote health outcomes
Where appropriate making referrals following Trust guidelines, policies and procedures.
