Description:
We are seeking an experienced Public Policy and Communications Manager to support our product and consumer priorities as well as execute communication strategies related to public policy issues.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4+ years of experience in PR, journalism, social media, or a relevant field.
- Understanding of the consumer and tech media landscape, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key press relevant to social media platforms.
- Knowledge or experience working with youth culture reporters is a plus.
- Ability to find new, exciting ways to tell product and trend stories in next-gen publications and on social media platforms.
- Experience working with consumer products to drive media coverage and campaigns.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong writing skills, with experience in writing press statements, blogs, narratives, and social copy.
- Analytical problem-solver who can think quickly on their feet to find solutions.
Location: On Site New York, NY
Role type: Contract 6 Month Position
Expected hours: 40 per week
Responsibilities:
- Lead media strategy and execution for product updates and launches across the company’s social media platform, focusing on consumer-led media, creators, and social publishers.
- Identify opportunities to tell creative, proactive stories that reach our target audiences beyond launches and tests. This includes storytelling around Gen-Z trends, creator case studies, music, and viral Instagram moments.
- Support campaigns and initiatives across Instagram with press outreach, creator engagements, and social opportunities to reach target audiences.
- Represent communications on cross-functional working teams, providing input for go-to-market plans, strategy, and tactics.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, and partnerships teams to create and execute go-to-market plans.
- Build and manage deep relationships with consumer/tech reporters, beat reporters, and new media outlets that reach priority audiences and drive coverage.
- Partner across wellness and policy to lead next-gen consumer communications programs.
- Develop programs and media partnerships with next-gen publications.
