The role
As a Public Sector Audit Associate you will be working and collaborating with colleagues in the audit team, as well as wider service lines to build strong working relationships. You will be providing assistance on public sector audits working with a variety of NHS trusts, central government departments and local authorities.

You will gain hands on experience from the planning phase of audit, through to fieldwork and completion. Some of your tasks will include:

  • reviewing findings from internal audit reports;
  • meeting with clients to understand and document internal processes and controls;
  • selecting samples for audit testing;
  • completion of audit tests to be reviewed by your manager, and feed through to our audit findings reports and recommendations presented to our clients.

You will be joining at a very exciting time for our Public Sector Audit team as we embark on a new contract from 2023/24 to deliver external audit services to local councils and police and fire commissioners. You will also be a part of expanding our external audit offering to NHS organisations.

Qualification
We have created a first-class training and development programme and, by starting your career at Azets, in addition to the comprehensive on the job training, you will also be given all the support you need to complete a professional qualification, including college and/or study days, mentoring and a designated buddy.

TO GET THE JOB THAT YOU’LL LOVE, YOU WILL:

  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Have achieved Level 4 in English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Have achieved/be on track to achieve a minimum 96 UCAS points (or equivalent)
  • Please note, this role is not suitable if you are studying or already hold an undergraduate and/or masters degree
