REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Experienced in Excel and Microsoft office packages
  • Knowledge of financial software packages
  • Experience of high volume purchase ledger environment
  • Demonstrable experience of bookkeeping
  • Ability to work to deadlines

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE / OVERVIEW:

The Purchase Ledger Clerk is accountable for the whole purchase ledger process, from purchase orders through to invoices and reconciliation. The main duties of the Purchase Ledger Clerk include matching and coding invoices, resolving discrepancies with stores suppliers and other departments, and reconciling supplier statements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Matching, checking and coding invoices
  • Resolving quantity and price discrepancies with goods in, purchasing, stores and suppliers as appropriate
  • Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Filing invoices
  • Data entry
  • Being first point of contact for all relevant enquiries
  • Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and stores.
  • Reviewing systems and processes and making improvements where necessary
