Description:
The Role
- Develop procurement strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives, considering factors such as cost savings, quality, and reliability of supply. • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate market trends, and anticipate changes in supply and demand. • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on criteria such as quality, price, delivery reliability, and compliance with regulatory requirements. • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve favorable terms and conditions while maximizing value for the company. • Maintain positive relationships with key suppliers and vendors, addressing issues, resolving disputes, and fostering collaboration to improve performance and outcomes. • Streamline and optimize the procurement process from requisition to delivery, implementing best practices, standard operating procedures, and automation tools as needed. • Develop and implement procurement policies, guidelines, and controls to ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards. • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, conduct supplier audits, and implement corrective actions as necessary to address deficiencies and improve overall performance. • Analyze procurement costs, spending patterns, and total cost of ownership (TCO) to identify opportunities for cost reduction, value enhancement, and process improvement. • Implement cost-saving initiatives, negotiate volume discounts, and explore alternative sourcing options to optimize procurement expenditures and maximize profitability. • Ensure that purchased products and services meet quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements, collaborating with quality assurance and compliance teams as needed. • Conduct supplier assessments, audits, and inspections to verify compliance with contractual requirements, industry regulations, and ethical standards. • Develop and maintain procurement metrics, KPIs, and performance dashboards to track key performance indicators such as supplier performance, on-time delivery, cost savings, and inventory turnover. • Prepare regular reports, analyses, and presentations for senior management, highlighting procurement trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field; master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) preferred. • 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management roles, preferably in the trading or distribution industry. • Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications. • Knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, contract management, and risk mitigation techniques.
