Are you passionate about taking responsibility for purchasing activities in assigned projects, acting as a coordinator with the project manager, and managing item costs and budgets? MacGregor is looking to hire an ambitious and proactive candidate to join our team.
MacGregor is a leading provider of integrated cargo and load handling solutions for the maritime industry. We pride ourselves on delivering world-class support to ensure the optimal performance of our equipment and are seeking a Purchaser, Mooring & Loading Spare Parts who shares our commitment to exceptional service.
This role is part of our Global Services Division. Reporting directly to the Team Leader, Parts Mooring and Loading. This position is based in Arendal, Norway.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide input on manufacturing and component costs during the bid-phase, and act as the main Purchasing contact for the Project Manager on assigned projects
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain functions to ensure project budget, delivery timelines, and purchasing forecasts are met, and update ERP system accordingly
  • Negotiate prices, handle purchase requisitions, place POs, follow up on deliveries, and ensure order confirmations, cost control, and documentation receipt
  • Manage commercial communication with suppliers and act as the Supplier Responsible (SR) for dedicated suppliers
  • Ensure timely delivery of Free Issued Items (FII), coordinating with suppliers and production, and regularly report item delivery status
  • Continuously identify and execute cost-saving actions, while managing supplier claims and LDs related to quality, scope, or delivery breaches
  • Meet individual KPIs, contribute to department KPIs, and report major changes in costs or delivery times to the Manager, Purchasing
  • Oversee purchasing for more complex or standard projects and perform other duties as assigned by your leader
