Description:
We are searching for a diligent Purchaser to join our team. Based in Bohemia, New York, this role involves overseeing purchasing activities, handling vendor relationships, and managing the buying processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that our purchasing department functions effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the purchasing of materials and inventory in line with company policies
- Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of necessary goods
- Utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to streamline purchasing processes
- Collaborate effectively with the rest of the team to understand purchasing needs and requirements
- Handle accounts payable, ensuring all invoices are paid in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data
- Apply strong communication skills to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers
- Collaborate with the Purchasing Department to develop and implement purchasing strategies
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Purchasing role
- Solid understanding of Accounting Functions and Accounts Payable (AP)
- Prior experience with Buying Processes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience working in a Purchasing Department
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
- Chef skills are desirable but not essential
- Must be able to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
