WHO WE ARE
Atlantic Provinces Special Educational Authority (APSEA) is an interprovincial cooperative agency established in 1975 by joint agreement among the Ministers of Education of New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
APSEA provides educational services, programs, and opportunities for children and youth who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, or visually impaired who reside in Atlantic Canada. Our employees support learners to reach their highest potential for an independent, self-sufficient, and fulfilling life.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of High School/GED Certificate is required.
- Minimum of three (3) years work experience in a purchasing and inventory control role.
- Experience in a shipping role is preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Ensures that all procurement policies and standards (typically following those of the Province of Nova Scotia) are adhered to and followed.
- Frequent standing, bending, and lifting is expected. Must be able to lift and maneuver items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Skilled in accounting software (SAP), Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel etc.), and Outlook.
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills are required to ensure work can be completed effectively and in a timely manner to optimize operations.
- Proven experience in using several known procurement principles to secure the best possible prices. (e.g., consolidating major purchases to obtain the lowest possible price by leverage).
