JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Purchasing Assistant assists the Purchasing Manager, Sr. Buyers and Category Managers to perform a variety of purchasing functions including processing and expediting orders in a timely manner. The Purchasing Assistant maintains the Materials Management System in relation to Purchasing.

Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
You will be responsible for processing and expediting orders pertaining to general and specialized medical supplies, clinical supplies, medical equipment, and services.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for processing/expediting orders, and/or purchasing orders for materials and services within area of responsibility.
- Responsible for coordinating the return of material goods to suppliers as needed.
- Maintains the Materials Management System based on standards determined by management.
- Supports the Sr Buyers to communicate out of stock concerns, buyer message issues, assists with product substitution procurement, and other tasks as determined appropriate.
- Assists in maintaining SOPS for the Purchasing Assistant work within the Purchasing Department to reflect current process and procedure.
- Adheres to regular and predictable attendance.
- Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.
