Description:

We are offering a role in the transport industry located in Stockton, California, United States, for a Purchasing Clerk. The role involves a range of responsibilities related to contract administration, procurement, and customer service. The position is a contract to permanent employment opportunity that offers a chance to expand your skills in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and administration of contracts for construction projects, equipment purchases, consulting services, and administrative services • Ensure contract compliance with terms, conditions, and cost performance provisions • Process contractor invoices for payment within contract and budget provisions • Monitor and enforce contract policies and procedures • Handle complex confidential problems, evaluate alternatives, and make sound, appropriate recommendations • Organize, set priorities, and exercise sound independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines • Communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing • Analyze and make sound recommendations on complex technical data and legal requirements associated with contract administration • Operate a computer using word processing and other business software • Maintain office and specialized confidential files and complete contract records • Establish and maintain effective customer-focused working relationships with all levels of management, employees, and other stakeholders

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a purchasing or procurement role within the transport industry.
  • Proficiency in 10-Key Accounting procedures and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to review details meticulously.
  • Experience in ensuring contract compliance and understanding contractual obligations.
  • Familiarity with contract negotiation, drafting, and management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
