SUMMARY:

AGAT Laboratories is hiring a Purchasing Coordinator to be based out of our Calgary corporate office. The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for the preparation and processing of purchase orders. This position is given direction from the Purchasing Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in Business Administration, supply chain management or equivalent relevant experience
  • 2 years’ experience in purchasing
  • Intermediate Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent data entry and typing skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English; French an asset
  • Customer Service Experience
  • Planning, organization, analysis and decision making skills required
  • Ability to multi task and work in a deadline driven environment
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Previous experience with SpendMap or purchase tracking software is considered an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Follow purchasing procedures including thorough analysis of potential suppliers and annual review of existing suppliers reviewing costs, quality, delivery, and other pertinent factors
  • Negotiate purchasing plans, including initiating, directing and maintaining short and long term schedules
  • Work with key internal company personnel in order to establish sound and effective purchasing strategies
  • Maintain suppliers’ files, updating purchasing records, data and pricing in the system
  • Prepare reports and summarizes data including cost analysis and consumption report
