ABOUT THE JOB
As Clearpath grows and continues to design and build robots full of awesomeness, we need someone to come in and purchase awesome robot parts! Our robots are built from a variety of unique parts, from suppliers all over the world. We’re looking for a purchasing coordinator who can nurture our current supplier relationships, and build new long lasting ones. You will be placing purchase orders and diligently monitoring them until receipt.
This position offers the best mix of responsibility, challenge, and enjoyment, while working alongside our fantastic Finance and Operations Team. You will wear many hats, work with every department in our company, and be around the coolest robots you can imagine.
Your primary responsibilities will be:
- Purchasing materials and coordinating purchasing activities across departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective manner.
- Obtains materials, components, equipment and services.
- Maintaining the purchasing automation program
- Acquires and maintains technical understanding of products purchased.
- Expediting the procurement process when necessary
- Aiding in the sourcing of new supply partners when a new product is introduced into the Clearpath supply chain
- Negotiating with supply partners to give Clearpath fair and optimal pricing
Additional tasks may include:
- Documenting and improving various supply chain processes
- Analyzing COGS spend
- Benchmarking the Clearpath supply chain against those in similar industries
- Working with other departments to improve interdepartmental cooperation and effectiveness
- Develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate.
- Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure highest quality at best value.
- May recommend cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis, alternative sourcing and vendor evaluation criteria.

Required Experience/Skills:
- Hands-on purchasing experience (2+ Years)
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel
- High standard of organization and attention to detail
- Able to quickly evaluate and assess a problem situation and prioritize courses of action
- Being comfortable in a customer-facing situation, and acting with professionalism in each of those instances
- Experience managing purchase orders in an ERP system
Bonus points for:
- International purchasing experience
- Experience reading and quoting mechanical drawings
- Past experience working in a technology company
- Maintaining a large inventory
- Knowledgeable about logistics
- Knowledge of Epicor
