Description:
We are in search of a Purchasing Coordinator to work onsite in Union City, California. Work hours are generally from 8AM to 5PM, Monday to Friday. This is a contract to permanent position.
As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will be instrumental in overseeing our purchasing activities and maintaining efficient buying processes. This role is integral to ensuring the timely acquisition of necessary items and services, managing purchase requisitions, and coordinating with vendors. The position requires collaboration with logistics, purchasing, and finance teams, and necessitates an ability to work with minimal guidance.
Prior experience in a similar role within a manufacturing company is required.
Responsibilities: • Execute and monitor purchase orders efficiently • Analyze supply and demand trends to optimize procurement practices • Interact with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of necessary items and services • Manage direct purchasing tasks and related logistical issues • Handle purchase requisitions and coordinate with vendors to secure necessary items • Use Microsoft Excel to maintain accurate records of transactions • Leverage negotiation skills to secure advantageous terms on pricing • Participate in the development and implementation of buying processes • Proactively solve problems and take initiative in improving purchasing operations • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with relevant regulations and standards. • Procurement and buyer responsibilities
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role or related field • Previous experience with purchase order management is a must • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel • Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) and inventory best practices is required • Familiarity with buying processes and best practices • Proactive and willing to learn • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills • Proactive problem-solving capabilities • Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
