Purchasing Manager

Eden Valley Poultry Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you are responsible for developing a purchasing strategy.
As a processor of chicken and turkey for our Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island farmers, Eden Valley Poultry is unique in the industry. REQUIREMENTS:

• Undergraduate degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
• Supply Chain and Management Certification preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience, including a minimum of two years in a leadership role.
• Working experience in purchasing or inventory controls required.
• Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards.
• Working knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Team-player with excellent leadership skills, able to motivate others, negotiate effectively, and interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work/excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential.
• Demonstrated success in building strong, collaborative teams, setting stretch objectives, and holding people accountable for commitments with a track record of delivering favorable results.
• Knowledge of process improvement tools.
• Intermediate Computer Skills (e.g., MS Office).
