PURCHASING OFFICER – CHILCA PROJECT
At Bradken, we are looking for a dynamic and committed Purchasing Officer (permanent full-time position) to support the operations at our Chilca Foundry.
As part of our team, you will play a key role in managing the company’s purchasing and tactical procurement activities, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services at competitive prices. This will include generating purchase requisitions, managing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, negotiating with suppliers, maintaining accurate vendor data and pricing records, tracking inventory, and ensuring compliance with company policies, all while contributing to the positive growth of our business.
You will bring exceptional communication, organizational, and planning skills, as well as problem-solving and project management abilities. You will work closely with various departments to understand their needs and ensure that supply chain operations run smoothly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, International Business, or related fields.
- Experience: 3 years of experience in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, reading and interpreting supply contracts. Knowledge of logistics/transportation. Knowledge of products and materials used in the industry (preferably in a foundry environment). Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as “Epicor” (preferred, but not mandatory) or similar ERP systems. Desirable experience in inventory management.
- Industry Background: Previous experience in foundries is valued.
- Certifications: Diplomas or courses related to purchasing, supply chain management (SCM), and inventory management is a plus but not mandatory.
- Software and Digital Tools Management: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Language Skills: Intermediate or conversational proficiency in English.
Location: The role will be based in our Chilca Foundry, located in G74J+WH, Chilca 15870 (Transportation will be provided).
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Order Management: Review requisitions from departmental users and process Purchase Orders, ensuring the accurate and timely acquisition of materials and services in accordance with policies, procedures, and relevant contractual agreements. Monitor the status of open Purchase Orders and follow up with suppliers. Verify that the goods and services received match the Purchase Orders.
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors. Source new suppliers, and negotiate discounts, payment terms, and delivery schedules with them.
- Inventory Management: Track inventory levels and place orders to replenish stock as needed. Assist with inventory audits. Collaborate with departments to forecast supply needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for continuously improving supply chain systems and processes. Complete supplier “Credit Application” documentation and “Vendor Price Changes,” along with the subsequent documentation of price amendments.
Maintain accurate records in the ERP system to ensure timely, accurate, and effective processing of purchase orders, ensuring proper and punctual compliance. Provide information to the Finance department to ensure approval of supplier invoices and payment tracking.
