Responsibilities:

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB-/SUMMARY

The job holder is responsible to assist the Supervisor/Purchase Manager in procuring all the materials, supplies, equipment and services required by the hospital. The job holder is responsible to coordinate the procurement cycle of specific products or services.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

  • The Procurement Officer reports directly to the Supervisor/Purchase Manager, and has a support responsibility to all functional departments and personnel.
  • Responsible to coordinate the procurement cycle of specific products or services as per the Purchase request assignment.
  • Responsible to assist the Supervisor/Purchase Manager to deal with the Companies and suppliers of equipment, conduct negotiations with suppliers and make a cost comparison between them. Prepare Management executive summary obtain necessary approval as per policy before creating purchase order.
  • Responsible for expediting the purchase request and orders, and overseeing receiving and dispersal of all items.
  • Procure products/materials, equipment and services in a timely manner.
  • Researches and selects products according to quality, price and serviceability standards. Contacts vendors and hospital personnel to ensure actions are completed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Reviews contracts to evaluate overall revisions, price, and past performance of each contract prior to bid or renewal.
  • Organizes, updates and retains product information files and purchase order records.
  • Maintain files and records of purchases, PRs, Contracts etc.
  • Ensure adherence to established policies and procedures of Dar Al-Shifa’s objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety standards.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Ensures safety standards (occupational and patient safety) are complied.
  • Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed

  • Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs
