DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, we are seeking a Purchasing Officer; with a positive and proactive individual to join our small but well-established purchasing team. Specifically, this role will:
Purchase materials required at the best prices with desired quality, quantity, and delivery.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the company’s production schedule.
Expedite and manage deliveries to meet production requirements.
Liaise with internal stakeholders for purchasing requests and keep them informed of progress.
Review and report purchase price variance report weekly.
Assist in the identification and reduction of redundant raw and packaging material.
Maintain and update all necessary records and reporting systems as required e.g., pricing, and minimum stock levels in Pharmix, pricing, lead-time, and pack sizes.
Responsibilities:
Ability to negotiate the best possible price on materials at the required quality, quantity and required delivery dates.
Highly organised with the ability to effectively prioritise workload and shift focus depending on the needs of the business.
Fast and accurate data manipulation skills in databases such as Microsoft Excel.
Strong communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain lasting relationships with a range of suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Very strong attention to detail.
