The Purchasing Officer is responsible for purchasing of materials and equipment ensuring that all equipment requested arrives on site within designated timeframes, ensuring that records are maintained and key stakeholders are informed on the delivery status.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible to the Project Managers, Service teams and Project teams for sourcing and purchasing products required for project delivery.
Build and maintain a strong knowledge of market research, in sourcing products to meet project requirements and specifications.
Efficiently use various systems and tools such as Confluence, Pronto, Redmap and MS Office to complete tasks successfully within given scope and timeframes.
Provide advice, information and guidance to internal stakeholders on sourcing and purchasing requirements for project delivery.
Assist with maintenance of the brand and supplier spreadsheet on confluence, to be used as a tool for Project Managers in sourcing products and SAGE preferred suppliers.
Ensure we are being provided the best value from the suppliers based on price, service and quality for overall cost of ownership.
Essential Requirements
Minimum of 3 years’ purchasing experience, ideally within a technical environment.
Excellent PC skills including MS Office Suite and ideally Salesforce.
Excellent communications, both written and verbal.
Must have current unrestricted Australian Work Rights.
The successful candidate will be proactive with strong multi-tasking skills who is flexible and adaptable, embraces challenges, is calm under pressure and can think on their feet. You will have great attention to detail and be a strong negotiator who can build and nurture relationships in order to drive positive outcomes.
Candidates from a technical background with strong administration and customer service skills who are looking to transition into a purchasing role may also be considered for this position.
