Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Specialist to join our Estimation team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement within the construction industry and will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services essential to our project success. This role is critical in ensuring that our estimations are accurate and cost-effective, ultimately contributing to the timely and on-budget completion of our projects.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Proven experience in negotiating and managing supplier relationships.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Residing in British Columbia, with a preference for those in the Vancouver area.
Responsibilities:
- Source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
- Collaborate with the Estimation team to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent project delays.
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Review and evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
- Support the Estimation team in developing cost-effective strategies.
