The Purchasing Specialist (d/f/m) for Radiometer is responsible for managing the supply for Radiometer Basel AG and Radiometer Solution (located in Poland) with raw materials, components to ensure a continuous production flow and a steady flow of finished goods to be delivered to our Distribution Center in Poland.
This position is part of the Radiometer Basel AG Team and will be located on-site in Basel, Switzerland. At Radiometer, our vision is to improve global healthcare with reliable, fast, and easy patient diagnoses.
You will be a part of the Supply Chain Team and report to the Supply Chain Team Manager responsible for continuously ensuring product delivery and securing supply of critical raw materials.

THE ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business administration with focus in Procurement, Purchasing and Materials Management (with commercial or technical background)
  • Multiple years of relevant and strong experience in Procurement, Purchasing and Materials Management in Medical Device industry or Pharma industry with regulatory and compliance requirements (ISO 13485, FDA CFR 21)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Fluent in German and English – both oral and written)

IT WOULD BE A PLUS IF YOU ALSO POSSESS PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH:

  • ERP system Dynamics AX (Axapta) or SAP
  • Proven contract & price negotiations
  • Notify body (like TUEV, BSI)
    This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for timely supply of all products, raw materials, parts, and services to manufacture medical products in Radiometer production entities
  • Define and implement a strategic purchasing strategy in close cooperation with Quality Assurance, Engineering and Manufacturing to securing critical supplies/key components
  • Drive projects for finding replacements of obsolete component or new/ additional suppliers and escalating potential risk in case of shortage or obsolescence of key components
  • Be responsible for KANBAN development and maintenance
  • Be deputy export specialist which requires a good understanding of customs regulations (including Swiss law) and best practice in freight forwarding
