Description:

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Adequate Purchasing Supervisor experience in a centralized procurement environment.
  • Centralized Procurement System experience – “Birch Street” desirable, but not essential.
  • To work independently, you must demonstrate that you can work alone or with minimal assistance
  • Commercially focused and a keen eye for detail with strong analytical & numerical skills.
  • High level competence in Microsoft excel and other office packages.
  • Proven negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills (both verbal and written).

Responsibilities:

  • Day to day operations with an emphasis on quick response times to the hotel departments. This is in order to limit any potential impact as a result of supply issues on hotel operations
  • Oversee the full process cycle of beverage inventory stock, generate reports for the Assistant Finance Manager/Director of Finance, and assist departments in resolving cost variances
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities to enhance company profitability
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing suppliers and establish new supplier relationships
  • Ensure compliance with established purchasing policies and procedures, conducting ongoing reviews, and implementing continuous improvements
  • Engage effectively with hotel operations and finance to ensure processes and controls are understood and best practices adhered to, implementing training programs where necessary
  • Assist in the development and achievement of departmental goals and objectives.
