Summary: Game changer will modify the front-end user interface of our existing malware sandbox (which is currently for internal use only) to be customer-facing and cleaner. We are currently porting code from Python 2 to Python 3 and implementing a new microservices architecture with database changes, and an API to drive front-end UI. We need developers to help with the Python version porting, developing the API for the web front end to use, and some work with relational databases and Mongo. This is remote in the US, Mexico, Argentina or Costa Rica. Must support EST time zone in the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Python development experience for high-volume backend systems
  • Experience porting Python 2 to Python 3 code Experience with relational databases Experience with Document-Oriented databases, MongoDB preferred
  • Experience debugging in production server environments
  • Experience developing for containers (not Kubernetes)
  • Experience writing automated tests and working with a DevTest environment, for example, Pytest
  • Experience with SQLAlchemy for Python (optional)
  • Experience with DevOps, testing and QA, familiarity with change management and testing/upgrading for python libraries
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Python applications.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and define technical solutions.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing Python applications.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10+ years of experience with Python
  • Must have: Python 2 or Python 3 code experience
  • Good to have: Docker, IOT, ETL tools
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain python-based applications and systems.
  • Very strong in core java / j2ee fundamentals.
  • Ability to communicate with highly technical team members and cross functional teams
  • 3+ years with Oracle database skills
  • Knowledge on Agile development methodology
