POSITION SUMMARY

Aetna’s Reporting Solutions team is looking for an initiative-taking Python Developer with 3+ years of experience in software engineering with Python in a professional environment to join our Tech Enablement team. In this role the candidate will be supporting a dedicated role for the State of North Carolina Medicare account.
This Python Developer role is a part of the Aetna Commercial’s Sales Enablement department that partners with business leaders and key stakeholders to optimize the achievement of strategic business objectives.
In this exciting new role, the candidate will be accountable for designing , developing new Python and SQL code for new analytics capabilities and reporting content for the State of North Carolina Medicare account. The work environment supports and thrives on out-of-the box thinking, creative talent and a consultative approach.
Specifically, this role will be responsible for developing and delivering new capabilities to support health care analytics and reporting, benefits evaluations, and operational decision making by Aetna internal and external constituents. This work requires technical, analytic, and consultative skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience focusing in Python.
  • 3+ years of experience focusing in SQL.
  • 1+ years using the following Python libraries : Polars, NumPy, Pandas.
  • 1+ years using Git version control systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a technical analytics/reporting role, with 3+ years of experience focusing in Python in a professional environment.
  • 5+ years experience with SQL query development, working in a data warehouse environment as well as the ability to work with large data sets from multiple data sources.
  • Experience with cloud computing providers (GCP, Azure)
  • Experience with : XML, JSON, YAML.
  • Experience migrating on-premises capabilities and analytical workflows to the cloud, leveraging cloud-native technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness , e.g., with Google Cloud Platform.
  • Excellent English communication and presentation skills, ensuring clear and concise communication with our team members and fostering a smooth and effective collaboration process.
  • Strong capacity and proactiveness for fostering collaboration and demonstrating commitment to the team’s goals is required.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage Python and SQL to develop new reporting and analytics using healthcare data (medical, pharmacy, lab) for the State of North Carolina Medicare account.
  • Drive forward enterprise modernization opportunities leveraging Python and cloud-native technologies.
  • Use analytics and technology to solve business needs as well as to demonstrate to customers the value of Aetna’s integration with CVS Health.
  • Communicate analytical findings to key stakeholders in a way that is easy to understand and actionable.
  • Refactor legacy programming code to improve turn-around-times and to take advantage of modern technologies.
  • Define and deliver new technical capabilities in support of healthcare business initiatives that drive short- and long-term objectives.
  • Monitor and maintain applications and production processes required to deliver on business commitments.
