QA Analyst
This role will act as a QA Analyst with primary focus on our Legacy ERP, as well as our B2B E-Commerce business and other systems as required. They will analyze requirements to coordinate and perform the functional test activities. Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to, analyzing requirements, creating test plans, test approach and test cases based upon the requirements, and working with the team and stakeholders to ensure the product that is delivered meets the requirements and quality objectives of the project.

What you will do:

  • A very key element, is that you will learn the nuts and bolts of the legacy ERP system, so that you can participate in QA strategies and testing that leverage changes to enable new technologies that integrate with the ERP, and or simulate the ERP on newer technology platforms
  • Participate in requirement discovery sessions with business stakeholders to fully understand the business request, to enable you to design testing strategies
  • Responsible for understanding use cases, and new processes, process improvements to incorporate into testing strategies
  • Work with IT teams to provide estimates for level of effort (LOE) and estimated time of delivery
  • Responsible for Tier 2 technical support IT solutions
  • Performs system level testing of applications for quality assurance and system integrity
  • Accurately estimate efforts required to complete assigned testing tasks
  • Develop Test Plans and Test Strategies that cover all aspects of testing to ensure applications meet all requirements before being moved into production
  • Ability to coordinate test environments and test data for all planned analysis
  • Collects information to analyze and evaluate existing systems
  • Strive to understand the business systems in our environment

What you will bring:

  • An appreciation of the importance of the legacy ERP and a desire to learn how it works in order to contribute progressing the company forward with the ERP as the basis
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business-Related or Computer Related field or relevant experience
  • Excellent knowledge of testing methodology
  • Experience developing test plans and test cases
  • Previous experience with automated testing would be an asset, but not mandatory
  • Experience with iSeries/AS400 would be an asset, along with API understanding
  • Knowledge of B2B and/or B2C ecommerce in a web environment
  • Good understanding of system change management processes as well as strong written documentation skills
  • Sound knowledge of the principles and techniques of computer systems
  • General understanding of the major business functions (purchasing, order entry)
  • In-depth understanding of business processes, especially those relating to wholesale distribution
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office products is required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated initiative with the ability to work in a collaborative team based environment;
  • Highly organized in prioritizing work and multi-tasking
