Description:

OVERVIEW:

The QA Lead is a key player in the Quality Assurance team, responsible for managing the QA personnel and designing test plans that execute the QA managers department strategy. The role requires a hands-on approach to guide the team through day-to-day testing activities, ensuring that all products meet the high-quality standards set by the organization.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and lead the team of QA testers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Create test plans aligned with department strategies outlined by the QA Manager, ensuring clarity and direction within the team.
  • Monitor the progress of testing activities and provide regular updates to the QA Manager on test outcomes and team performance.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones with QA team members to guide their professional development and address any concerns.
  • Ensure that all team members are trained on the latest QA methodologies and tools.
  • Facilitate effective communication between QA testers and other departments, including development and production teams.
  • Oversee the creation of detailed bug reports and manage the bug triage process to prioritize issues effectively.
  • Advocate for the needs of the QA team, including resources, tools, and training necessary to maintain high standards of quality.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of testing processes and strategies in collaboration with the QA Manager.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of test management software to streamline testing processes and ensure efficient tracking of test cases and results.
  • Lead the implementation of the company’s quality assurance strategies to align with specific project requirements.
  • Assist with managing external QA
  • Facilitate effective communication between QA, producers, and game leads to ensure alignment and address project-specific quality issues.
  • Assist in QA manager duties.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • Experience in a QA leadership role within the video game industry.
  • Understanding of the game development lifecycle and the specific testing needs at each stage.
  • Proven management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects and lead QA personnel effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the capability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Proficient in QA tools and software, with an aptitude for learning new technologies quickly.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
