SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience in a similar role in a Food Manufacturing environment is essential.
- Experience with BRC or equivalent standards operation.
- Excellent training and supervisory skills.
- Understanding of rice milling and packaging would be beneficial.
- A good understanding of HACCP principles and Food Hygiene & Safety.
- Organisation, prioritisation and problem solving skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively to all levels in the Business.
- Report generation and interpretation.

Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE:
The purpose of this role is to supervise the Rice Product quality from Paddy to Plate, involvement in Procurement, Storage, Milling, Packaging and QC testing in a manner that meets the Brand requirements of Veetee. The key focus is to drive product quality to maximise brand potential by leading the Quality Assurance team on their responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner. The main goal is to ensure that all product is compliant with regulations and specifications before reaching Veetee customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Champion brand quality at Veetee. Communicating with other functions to understand and ensure customer expectations are met.
- Lead a quality assurance team to verify that all materials including finished products are safe and conform to all relevant specification, legislations and customer requirements.
- Being part of auditing team.
- To investigate customer complaints, or any non-conformance raised internally or externally to provide data which informs resolution.
- Supervise all intake with the quality assurance team and be responsible for quality of incoming material.
- Excellent understanding of the rice processing and good practices so that best practice is followed.
- Raising and following non-conformances according to NCR procedure.
- Understanding of HACCP and critical control points during manufacturing.
- Ensure that all processes of receiving raw materials, storage, packaging and releasing into the factory supply chain meet business standards including visual and physical checks and inspections at each stage.
- Ensure accurate analysis and tests are conducted at each stage of supply chain according to quality systems and reports shared with business heads in a timely manner.
- Train and develop staff to ensure understanding of Rice growing and, physical and organoleptic parameters.
- Maintain a log for non-conforming raw materials. Trend supplier performance based on analysis reports.
- Any other reasonable duties, responsibilities and requests that may be issued by management from time to time.
- Demonstrate leadership and motivation together with the creation of a team that readily accepts responsibility and ownership.
