Description:
Here at I-Fulfilment we have a dedicated team of developers who are constantly enhancing our in-house software which each year processes millions of orders. As we are pushing forward with our IT roadmap, we now have a requirement for a dedicated technical tester. We have a great system, that we all love and want the best experience for our end users, so we need help by having that extra pair of eyes before we deploy the software to a production environment.
With warehouses in the UK, Germany, and the USA despatching 000s orders a day, we need to ensure our deployments do not interfere with the smooth running of the global operation.
Our development team has grown in the past year, which means we are producing more new software than we have ever done. So, the role for testing has become too much to add to the existing teams’ daily tasks and we need someone dedicated to making sure we deliver quality-controlled software. With a system that runs operations for a team of 150+ employees along with over 130 clients, we need to get our deployments into production out with as little impact as possible, along with communicating effectively to keep the business and customers up to date with the latest release information and all the new functionality released.
The role is designed for a person who has great attention to detail and is fabulous at understanding the business requirements and the acceptance criteria then turning those into testing plans.
You will be a process focussed and an organised individual, passionate about delivering high-quality service. You will need to be someone who can work well within a team and has meticulous attention to detail.
Your technical abilities will be required for updating data in our testing environments to get data into a testable state, so you should be to an intermediate level of MySQL along with an understanding for the need to consider performance and security.
When testing, being able to see things from and End User perspective, where you are not only testing the changes or additions to the software, but you are also considering things like; are the actions expected by the user clear?, do the screens work as expected?, are the changes consistent with other screens? (like Help, OK and Save buttons in the same place etc). So, you’ll be looking at the quality of the changes too, to ensure the system has a consistent look and feel.
We are also looking to introduce Automated Testing to run the software through our key processes prior to the acceptance testing and your role will be key to identifying what we should be testing, every time we deploy.
