DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW
We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available at Perrigo Australia for the position of QC Chemist within the QC Chemistry team. This position is laboratory based at the company’s Balcatta facility and follows a weekly rotating shift (providing daily coverage between 7am - 5:30pm). The site manufacturers a range of pharmaceutical products across categories including antiseptics, pain relief, hand hygiene, women’s health and oral care.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Criteria:
- Science-based bachelor’s degree (preferably chemistry related with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a laboratory setting in a GMP environment).
- Demonstrated experience with HPLC/GC analytical methodologies
- Strong technical writing skills
- Experience with Empower® chromatography software will be highly regarded
- Experience with continuous improvement processes will be highly regarded
Responsibilities:
The QC Chemist role is responsible for:
- Analysis of semi-finished and finished products
- Analysis of raw materials required for use in manufacturing
- Analysis of stability samples
- Assisting with execution of the sites environmental monitoring program
The laboratory employs a number of wet chemistry and analytical methods (including UV-Vis spectrophotometry, Gas & Liquid Chromatography). All analyses are carried out in accordance with fully documented methods (primarily based upon pharmacopoeia monographs). The laboratory itself operates in accordance with current Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
