JOB OVERVIEW

Trimay Wear Plate is the leading manufacturer and distributor of overlay wear plate & pipe, rubber lined pipe, welding consumables, and VR connectors. Trimay has a manufacturing facility and head office in east Edmonton, and services an international customer base in a wide range of industries, including mining, oilfield, forestry, asphalt and power generation.

We are currently looking for a QC inspector and Fabricator to join our team. The position will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor and will be part of an existing production team. Ideally, candidates are willing to learn new skills in various positions in the manufacturing plant as required by the Manufacturing Supervisor. Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Responsible for performing final inspection by measuring material with tape measure, calipers, or other measuring devices based on 2D AutoCAD drawings.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Maintaining a clear quality record and assisting the materials movement in the digital system.
  • Efficiently operating fabrication equipment for processes such as countersinking, bevelling, flattening, forming, stud welding, gouging, etc.
  • Operate overhead crane and forklift to delivery and pickup products.
  • Loading and unloading products in a safe manner.
  • Participate in training and cross training of other plant positions.
  • Willingness to gain safety and quality training requirements.

Must possess the following:

  • Previous metal shop fabrication and quality control experience
  • Class 5 clean driver’s licence (abstract required)
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to shift from one job to another with little notice
  • Assist in keeping a clean, safe work environment
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
