With manufacturing facilities in Toronto Ontario, Maxxit specializes in design assist, project management, and fabrication of innovative interior and exterior architectural solutions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage, mentor, and guide a team of CAD designers to ensure project design objectives are met.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of drawings and designs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements and industry standards.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to understand project specifications, resolve design challenges, and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes to guarantee high-quality drawings and minimize errors.
  • Utilize and stay up to date with industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino) to assist with design needs and ensure team efficiency.
  • Assist in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of design phases of projects, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Proactively seek and suggest ways to improve design processes, enhance team collaboration, and implement best practices in drafting and design.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to CAD designers, fostering growth and improving technical skills within the team.
  • Identify and resolve design discrepancies, technical issues, or conflicts in drawings or specifications.
  • Maintain proper documentation of drawings, revisions, and related project files for future reference and compliance audits.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, Drafting, or related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of CAD design experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
  • Experience with sheet metal manufacturing – understanding design efficiency/best practice and machinery limitations.
  • Strong understanding of product engineering
  • Basic understanding of building construction: types of construction, methods of attachment, trade sequencing, jobsite conditions, nuances of building materials / need for tolerances.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Proven ability to provide constructive feedback and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with Parametric Design software such as Rhino or Grasshopper would be an asset.
