Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Industrial Service Solutions has an immediate opening for a QC/Safety Technician. This individual must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail and must be able to work as part of a team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applied/Mechanical engineering, Industrial Technology degree preferred or High school diploma, some technical or trade school or on the job training.
  • Work varying shifts, weekends or holidays when required.
  • Ability to interpret industry, customer, and OEM specifications.
  • Working knowledge of electrical motor design and functional performance.
  • Working knowledge of electrical generator design and functional performance.
  • Working knowledge of gearbox design and functional performance.
  • Understanding of HVAC systems and function.
  • Proficient in the teardown, cleaning, evaluation, inspection, testing, repair, and assembly of various equipment such as AC/DC motors, generators, gearboxes, and HVAC equipment.
  • Working knowledge of electrical theory and circuit design.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding electrical circuit wiring and schematic diagrams.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in the use dimensional measuring equipment such as various type of micrometers, calipers, and other gages.
  • Proficient in the use of electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, surge and hi-pot test equipment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observes all Safety procedures and uses protective gear. Ensures all Safety policies and practices are being followed.
  • Performs and records the results of incoming, in-process and final attribute, functional, or variable inspection, measurement, and testing of product as processes as defined in established procedures, customer request or at the direction of supervision or management.
  • Performs final review, verification, and approval of production records and packaged product to be shipped.
  • Performs final signature release and identification of incoming, in-process and finished product for issue to inventory, production, or shipment to the customer.
  • Provides technical expertise and assistance to production personnel as needed to ensure product meets established specifications and quality requirements.
  • Performs attribute, variable, or functional inspection, measurement, testing or other evaluation of in-bound unit product to detect and identify nonconformities. Determines root cause and initiates corrective actions as needed.
  • Initiates internal and supplier nonconformance reports in response to the detection of nonconforming product by production personnel or during QC inspection, measurement, or testing of product.
  • Investigates and performs root cause analyses of identified internal product nonconformities. Initiates corrective action as needed.
  • Performs attribute, variable, or functional inspection, measurement, testing or other analyses of nonconforming product as a results of customer complaints for nonconformity verification. Determines root cause and initiates corrective actions as needed.
  • Review production and quality documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to the release to the shop floor. May generate documents as required.
  • Assists in the disposition of nonconforming product.
  • Performs first articles as required.
  • Performs internal audits in accordance with ISO 9001 and internal procedures.
  • Creates audit reports and initiates nonconformity reports.
  • Assists and/or trains others as required.
  • Assists in continual improvement activities and metric tracking and reporting.
  • Develops and implements quality standards based up area of assignment.
  • Keeps work area neat and clean.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
