DESCRIPTION

We have a new exciting opportunity for a QHSE Director to join our Senior Leadership Team here at thyssenkrupp Materials UK.
As the QHSE Director, you would be responsible for overseeing the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental systems and processes across the organisation. You will ensure compliance with all legal regulations to ensure that the company’s operations comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies related to quality, health, safety, and the environment. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, develop a strong safety culture, and implement suitable practices that enhance business performance.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE /SKILLS /EXPERIENCE /BEHAVIOURS:

  • Knowledge: strong understanding of QHSE and other related regulations and standards. Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, 14001, 45001, or similar standards
  • Leadership Skills: proven track record of leading and managing a team and/or a cross functional team, driving culture change, and influencing stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk and make informed decisions under pressure
  • Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information to diverse audiences
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities, whilst still delivering accurate, quality results
  • Ability to foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Strategies:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QHSE strategies, policies, and procedures that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Provide leadership and direction to the QHSE team, promoting a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Lead, manage, and mentor QHSE team, ensuring they have the skills and resources to meet business objectives
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s) to evaluate the effectiveness of QHSE Programs and initiatives, creating dashboards to build understanding within the business
  • Ensure all employees are trained on safety awareness and site safety requirements and technical capability that may be required

Quality Management:

  • Oversee the implementation of quality management systems (ISO 9001 & AS 9100) ensuring compliance and driving improvements in product/service quality
  • Monitor quality performance indicators and lead root cause analysis for quality issues, implementing corrective actions
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives that align with customer requirements and industry standards
