EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years of experience in quality engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, APQP) and regulatory requirements.

SKILLS:

  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings.
  • Fluent in data analysis using Excel and database tools.
  • Proficient in using quality control tools and software.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.

Qualifications:Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

We are looking for an intermediate Manufacturing Quality Engineer who will oversee every facet of our quality control system, from conducting vendor audits to spearheading ISO certification efforts. Drawing on your background in mature manufacturing environments, you will take a holistic and strategic view of the future systems and processes our company needs to support our growth, but you’re not afraid to dig into the finest details of analysis and process definition. This role spans aspects of both quality management and manufacturing engineering.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Documentation and Reporting: Develop, implement, and maintain our quality management systems by defining and drafting SOPs and detailed work instructions, and implementing quality management systems across engineering and manufacturing functions. Prepare reports on quality metrics and performance for management review.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production and test teams to address issues related to quality or manufacturing process.
Process Improvement: Analyze, design and implement manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement. Work to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality. Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of raw materials and components. Conduct supplier audits and assessments as needed.
Training and Education: Provide training and support to manufacturing staff on quality control processes and best practices to promote a culture of quality.
Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality issues and non-conformances to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Audits and Reviews: Conduct internal audits and participate in external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. Lead the ISO certification process, including preparing documentation, coordinating and conducting audits, and implementing necessary improvements to achieve and maintain certification.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the manufacturing process that could impact product quality and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
