Description:
To act as a lead in supporting the Directorate in driving and embedding quality and research further within the culture of the Imaging Department, influencing behaviour, ensuring the highest of standards of record keeping and documentation which in turn impacts on a better patient experience and best practice.
To work as part of the Imaging Directorate’s Quality and Research Team with a specific focus on ensuring that high standards and robust governance is implemented and maintained across all modalities of the Imaging service providing assurance of compliance with all relevant national quality and safety standards.
The post holder will help to support, drive and promote research activity, striving to establish best practice for patients and further embed evidence based practice into the culture of a research led department, using negotiation and problem solving skills should any challenges arise to participation, thus enabling high levels of research activity and treatment opportunities for patients.

Supporting and managing the Directorate’s risk management processes working alongside other Directorates and Divisions to ensure that completed incident investigations are of a high standard and are managed in a timely manner as required by the Trust. Identifying trends and working with modality teams to develop quality improvement processes to reduce risk and improve quality of care for patients. The post holder will also lead on the Directorate Audit Programme presenting this in a format that that meets QSI (Quality Standard for Imaging) standards, supporting Modality Teams with the development of KPI’s (key performance indicators) to ensure that local processes are regularly audited to assess the quality of services.
Working closely with the Research and Innovation (R&I) Department to assess feasibility of new trials ensuring all governance checks are complete before authorisation. To manage the research budget liaising with the Divisional Finance Department to ensure spend plans are produced and submitted in a timely manner each year. To lead on providing research and audit evidence as required for QSI external assessments and to support accreditation site visits
