Description:

Responsibilities:

Facilitate and supervise on-line plant quality performance both on-line and RMPM acceptancen(product, materials, equipment and process) that includes interaction and guidance to the team of chemists and lab technicians.

  • Ensure updated standards and methods are followed and used as per AMENA Quality, R&D specification and government requirements. non-conforming product is identified using Hold & Release protocol and not allowed to go for dispatch.
  • Lead implementations and sustaining of PI food safety standard across the plant and monthly food safety audit, coordinate with different departments for addressing food safety issues in timely manner.
  • Lead the investigation of consumer and customer complaints effectively with root cause (s)identified and corrective action taken and reported back to consumer service within the time frame specified in relevant procedure
  • Lead the department in meeting EHS KPIs such as Near miss, chemical management and other standards.
  • Conduct annual audits such as Global QAS and ASHA, address findings through a structured action plan and by facilitating coordination with FLMs of other departments
  • Lead quality department during regulatory inspections ensure hygiene / food safety related findings are addressed within given time frame.
  • Develop and execute Quality & food safety training plan for entire plant population and contract labours within given time frame
  • Lead the department in meeting EHS KPIs such as Near miss, chemical management and other standards.
  • Conduct annual audits such as Global QAS and ASHA, address findings through a structured action plan and by facilitating coordination with FLMs of other departments
  • Ensure all analytical instruments are kept in operation, tidy and calibrated as per schedule while meeting 5 S requirements.
  • Handle third party pest control contract ensuring facility is free of pests activities.
  • Ensure Quality and Food Safety requirements are met in laboratories and production floor, updated PI standards, methods and regulatory standards are available, understood and followed while meeting both PI as well as regulatory requirements.

  • Interact with relevant functions for quality issue resolution (e.g. hold FGRMPM, action plans).
  • Lead the investigation of Quality related complaints and follow-up formulated action plan.
  • Support productive, innovative and developmental projects pertaining to product and packaging
  • Support and monitor implementation of Safety, Food Safety and IPS programs.
  • Conduct annual audit using QSHA and ASHA audit form and conduct action plan meeting for gap observed
  • Authority to hold non-conforming products and stopping production line in the event of violation of specifications and procedure.
  • Engage in discussion/interaction with peers and plant’s leadership team, agreeing action plans for addressing related issues.
  • Managing day to day activities and staff’s working schedule.
  • Prepare and issue periodic reports (Key Process Indicators) relevant to quality this includes people performance and scheduling.
  • Ensure needs of the Lab and Staffs are timely addressed these include but not limited, trainings, PPE, Chemicals, office supplies, uniforms etc.
  • Carry out all required shift wise line inspections; take immediate actions to correct any non compliance to standards.
  • To implement, sustain and participate in the continual improvement of the EHS Management System (MS) at area of responsibility in accordance to the legislations, PepsiCo GEHSMS and relevant EHS standards, ensuring proper controls for all hazards and risks associated with all activities/areas are in place and EHS targets are achieved.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science (Chemistry, Microbiology or Food Science)
  • ISO22000 / HACCP knowledge.
  • Excellent command over written and spoken English.
  • Good computer skill with excellent knowledge of MS words, Excel and Power point.
  • Soft skill, presentation skill, excellent Interpersonal & effective communication skills to engage cross functional peers for resolving day to day functional conflicts.
  • Functional excellence and knowledge of lab instruments
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in supervisory position in a food manufacturing company with profound subject knowledge to lead a team of qualified chemists.
