We are now hiring a full-time QA assistant that will have the opportunity to build a long-term stable career and be an integral part of a team-oriented company! The Quality Assurance Assistant helps implements and maintains processes in accordance with the company standards. The Quality Assurance assistant is also responsible for assisting in creating, reviewing, analyzing, accepting or rejecting, as applicable, reports for nonconformance data with a focus for continuous improvement.If you’re looking for a company who values safety, and recognizes that employees are our #1 asset, then consider joining the PSC / Steel Line Railroad family today!
Work Schedule: M-F , but times could vary based on scheduled jobs. Must be able to work overtime if needed. Some evenings and weekends are required.

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a leadership role involving railcar repair operations, safety, and training
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to build trust
  • Attentive and active listening skills

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to obtain and possess a valid driver’s license and TWIC card
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with implementation, oversight, and management of the Quality Assurance Program on a site level basis.
  • Helps internal audits, external audits (AAR, customer, etc.), and customer site visits.
  • Analyzes and tracks nonconformance data with a goal of identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Communicates quality improvement opportunities to production management, and partners with production management in leading changes to improve overall results.
  • Contributes to the overall performance from the standpoints of safety, quality, profitability.
  • Manages in-process inspection and final inspection audits to ensure compliance with quality program.
  • Facilitates root cause and corrective action processes with cross-functional operations team.
  • Evaluates and coordinates with production management the quality training needs.
  • Performs other duties such as SOW’s, material and parts etc
  • Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job
