MINIMUM EDUCATION

High school or equivalent

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 1 plus years of work experience. Good communication (both oral and written) and math skills.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

Experience in food quality and/or safety.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm. Able to stand for several hours. Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all written SOPs to verify all documents completed and turned in daily basis. This includes on-floor and paperwork verifications of NAE PVP, APF PVP, and Organic Programs. Associate will also perform on-the-floor pre-operational inspection verification along with pulling data from electronic tracking devices used in the verification process. 2. Provide support to the QA/FS supervisors and manager on all duties assigned. This includes lab data entry and preparation of customer and in-house samples.
  • Audit all SSOP/HACCP records providing timely feedback to management. Review and File HACCP / SSOP/ Supporting paperwork daily and report problems to QA/FS supervisors and managers. Record information obtained on monitoring records and entered into the electronic data input devices.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with the USDA and keep up with the regulations concerning the SSOP/HACCP program.
  • Training and documentation of training of all levels of plant associates concerning SSOP/Pre-Requisite/HACCP programs.
  • Hands-on involvement in all Food Safety/QA problems that arise during the shift and developing appropriate solutions and corrective actions/preventative measures for those problems. Must be familiar with deviations resulting in the stressing of the product which could reduce the shelf life of the affected product. Must continually evaluate the potential for foreign material contamination and all hazards while in assigned work areas.
  • Conduct validation(s) of in-house data that support facility food safety decisions as needed yearly.
  • Training HACCP monitors.

  • Perform and accurately record HACCP checks on the product to assure product is within the guidelines of the company HACCP program.
