Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE:

Examine manufactured, repaired or overhauled products, on a variety of electric motors and associated motor equipment. Must understand and be technically proficient in inspection, diagnostics, fault isolation and repair of all major assemblies and sub-assemblies to make sure they meet all required specifications. Must determine whether product meets specifications and
quality standards and take corrective action as necessary.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Capable of performing electrical tests (Insulation Resistance, Hi-pot, Surge, Core-loss, Resistance, Bar-to-Bar, Impedance) and mechanical measurements as they relate to the motor fault analysis and rebuilding.
  • Capable of reading and understanding motor coil and wiring interconnection diagrams and their preparation.
  • Knowledge of motor construction and acceptance criteria according to manufacturer’s specification.
  • Perform incoming inspection as per technical requirements or purchase order specification according to sampling plan.
  • Perform in-process inspection before motor re-assembly; check for completeness of tests, documentation and perform random audits on the off shift.
  • Perform final inspection of motors, armatures, rotors and other sub-assemblies signing for conformance before shipment to the customer.
  • Perform coil batch “first off” inspection verifying electrical and dimensional requirements to specification.
  • Initiate Non-Conforming Report resolution for incoming, coils and motors implementing IS0 9001:2008 procedures as applicable.
  • Transfer information from Sherwood’s Motor Test Sheets to Customer’s Documents.
  • Assist with audits of processes and procedures to standards.
  • Understanding of Safety, ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System requirement
  • Perform related duties as assigned
