Description:
JOB SUMMARY
Avanti is seeking a qualified quality assurance technician to work in our lab, testing our nonwoven materials for performance in medical, hygiene, industrial and agricultural products. The Lab Technician will conduct physical and analytical tests and inspections of materials to evaluate quality and ensure high standards and specifications are met.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
Full-Time, 40+ hrs/week. Monday-Wednesday 6:00 PM-2:00 AM, Thursday-Friday 8-hrs Day Shift.
Shifts that begin after 5:00pm are eligible for a $2 per hour night shift bonus. We are a 24/7 facility and require our lab technicians to be available on at least one weekend day, if needed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- HS Diploma or Equivalent is required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Proven experience as Lab or Quality Technician or relevant position
- Experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment
- Ability to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment, standing for long periods of time, etc.
- Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office and database systems
- Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to write correspondence and reports
- Excellent organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and non-routine tests and analyses using the appropriate technical equipment and instruments
- Receive or collect, label, and process samples
- Execute laboratory testing according to standard procedures, make observations and interpret findings
- Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility
- Using computers and computer systems to enter data or process information
- Perform quality control and calibrate equipment if necessary
- Maintain equipment in proper working order and maintain a clean work area
- Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations
- Other duties as assigned
