COMPANY OVERVIEW
The Prairie Payments Joint Venture (PPJV) is a joint venture owned by three Prairie centrals created to digitally transform and modernize payment services for credit unions in the Prairies. PPJV’s goal is to ensure prairie credit unions are competitive in payments and have access to efficient, modernized payments processing infrastructure.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in payments services industry or financial services
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science or technical degree
- Experience in quality inspection, auditing and resting is preferred
- Experience implementing quality assurance protocols and processes
- Strong experience implementing corrective/preventive measures
- Strong project management skills
- Strong multi-tasking skills to help with transition between ongoing work and new projects
- Excellent communications skills both written (for report development) and verbal
- Experience as a people leader and achieving strong performance results
- Proficiency Level of Microsoft Office Suite: Strong

Responsibilities:
ROLE SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will oversee the activity of the quality assurance department and team. This includes developing, implementing, and maintaining the overall success of the Quality Assurance at Prairie Payments Joint Venture (PPJV). The QA Manager will ensure products and services, plans, projects, and initiatives are executed and delivered to meet the standards of quality, are reliable and satisfy both the client expectations and regulatory requirements. The QA Manager will provide expertise in quality assurance as business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered to comply with governing regulations and internal policies and procedures.
The QA Manager will manage acceptance testing of assigned new and changed payments systems that affect PPJV payments departments and applications. This role will review and test changes in the application systems to maintain system integrity in the production environment, analyze deficiencies in service or performance and recommend product or service improvements to address issues. The QA Manager is expected to develop and communicate meaningful metrics that drive the team to continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Champions a client focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader credit union relationships, systems and knowledge
- Direct and guide project test teams to ensure the timely delivery of quality products/ functions consistent with the business needs and priorities of Payments Operations, AFTs, Bill Pay, Interac, etc. departments, users
- Manage testing across all PPJV projects by reviewing and evaluating requirements and design documentation, developing test strategies/stories, approving the preparation of comprehensive test documentation, overseeing daily testing activities, and monitoring the ongoing progress of testing
- Designs and implements defect reduction programs
- Participate in the process to establish, communicate, and manage objectives, strategies and plans for the Testing area of UAT, ensuring quality principles are adhered
- Review planned activities for future initiatives, participate in forward-planning sessions and identify/ resolve conflicts between initiatives
- Develop and administer Quality Assurance standards and policies
- Develops and implements quality assurance problem reporting process and systems.
- Assess the test requirements of projects and releases and approve the timing of releases within an integrated test schedule
- Raise outstanding issues impacting the promotion of code to the Production environment and provide direction to minimize associated risks
- Approve test evaluations, review code implementation strategies, and authorize recommendations for promotion of code to the Production environment to ensure the highest quality of service in the delivery of PPJV initiatives
- Manage the planning, scheduling, assignment and monitoring of testing activities for assigned projects to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained
- Manage the coordination of day-to-day testing efforts for assigned application systems and project testing efforts with other testing personnel, end users, technical support and development areas
- Troubleshoot when problems arise and contribute to their resolution in a hands-on manner when necessary
- Manage staff (current and new) and identify training requirements while championing a high-performance environment
- Provides leadership and direction as needed to support the team, drive continuous improvement, and manage risk
- Communicates across all stakeholder groups to understand expectations, solutions, and to advocate for effective test strategies and mitigate risk to the organization
- Analyze industry best practices to recommend improvements to methodology, test environments and workflow to promote an efficient and cost-effective UAT process
- Identifies ways to implement automation tools and techniques to maximize testing efforts
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations in accordance with PPJV’s Values and Code of Conduct, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML sanctions and conduct risk
